Kirk and Yolanda Rogers
Serving in Guinea, West Africa with Ethnos360
Kirk and Yolanda serve among the Landuma people of Guinea, West Africa. Most Landuma people follow a religion which demands they do religious works in order to earn merit. They also practice animistic rituals in an attempt to see their needs met. Very few know and believe the Good News of God’s love and forgiveness through faith in Jesus. So their spiritual needs are great. Thus the primary focus of the Rogers’ work is on church planting, including the translation of the Scriptures into the Landuma language, preaching the Good News to those who have not yet trusted Jesus, and shepherding the small group of Christians.
Kirk and Yolanda also teach literacy to those who wish to learn to read. The Landumas’ material needs are great as well, as they are poor subsistence farmers who often don’t have enough to eat nor money to pay medical bills and other expenses. So Kirk and Yolanda also provide educational and material assistance to their neighbors in various areas such as farming, health, schooling, and obtaining clean drinking water.
